Mini MVR, S/P eValve clip

This is the 2nd eValve clip that I have removed. Contrary to prior reports, it appears extremely difficult to remove the clip without damaging the valve leaflets. Repair becomes extremely challenging in these cases. The intra-op pictures demonstrate a minimally invasive exposure of the valve with the clip in place and a picture of the anterior leaflet demonstrating the clip. The clip was not place on A2-P2. It appeared to be off center and closer to A1-P1. It was also wrapped around one of the primary chordae originating from the anterolateral papillay muscle.
This patient underwent a successful minimally invasive MVR with a 29mm porcine valve. She was extubated within 24hours and has had an uneventful post-op course.
